Security Services

The role of the Security Team

The Security Team supports the hospital by helping to maintain a calm and orderly environment where care can be delivered safely.  This includes:

  • Offering assistance to patients, visitors and staff if concerns arise
  • Helping manage access to buildings and public areas
  • Responding to situations that could affect people’s safety or wellbeing
  • Supporting staff in dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Helping to reduce violence, aggression and antisocial behaviour

Security staff are trained to act professionally and sensitively, recognising that people attending hospital may be unwell, distressed, or worried.
